Since receiving my diploma and applying all the information from the course material and my review of assignments, I have published two commissioned articles and have just been given a third assignment.

Since becoming a freelance writer, hundreds of my articles and award-winning photographs have appeared in print and online in both national and regional publications, with most of my writing focused on the outdoor genre.

That being said, I needed to broaden my portfolio to include travel writing, but I had no clue how to begin, despite my experience.

After researching other travel journalism courses, I chose to enrol in The Ultimate Travel Journalism Course with the British College of Journalism.

I was unsure what to expect since the class was conducted online. However, I was very impressed with the entire process, from registration to the delivery of course materials, submitting assignments, and, most importantly, receiving tutor feedback.

My tutor, Daniel Scott, with over 30 years of travel writing experience, transformed what I thought would be tough work (don’t get me wrong, writing remains tough work) into an enjoyable experience. After submitting my completed assignment, Daniel offered a helpful review, and all interactions were excellent.

“So it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks.” Here’s to the writing life!
